2008 Snyder Motorsports Pick The Pros Rules and General Information:
- The Snyder Motorsports Pick the Pros contest is open to JRDrags.com members in good standing. You must be registered on JRDrags.com to play and win.
(Website Sponsors and family members of JRDrags.com owners not eligible for Grand Prize but are welcome to play along for fun. JRDrags.com reserves the right to disqualify any poster who does not follow our published Terms of Service in their website conduct.)
- Check each posted contest for closing date and time. Sometimes closing times
are not EXACT. Generally, contests will be posted the Sunday prior
to the event, and will close at the end of Friday qualifying. Occasionally
closing time may be adjusted due to JRDrags.com admin travel schedule, so please
check each individual contest for details! JRDrags.com cannot be responsible for schedule changes, and cannot add picks for posters after the contest is closed.
- Please post full names of drivers. In the case of drivers who share a last
name with another driver in that class, last name only cannot be accepted
and will result in zero points awarded.
- Only one contest entry per member per event.
- Absolutely NO EDITING is allowed. If you need to correct a pick or wish to change a pick before the contest closes, please make another post.
- Claim your best 19 of 24 NHRA 2008 National events.
- Points will be awarded for Top Fuel Dragster, Top Fuel Funny Car, and Pro
Stock Car classes at every event. In addition, points will be awarded for
Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, and Pro Stock Bike at events
running these classes. Pro Mods will not be an included class for this contest in 2008.
- If you believe a mistake has been made on tallying your points, please notify
Gina Herndon about the problem
within five (5) days of the posting of event result.
How Points Are Tallied:
Points awarded as follows for each class contested:
7 pts. Winner
5 pts. Runner-up
3 pts. Semi-finalists
2 pts. 2nd round losers
1 pt. 1st round losers
Double Points:
Classes at the Mac Tools U.S. National (IRP, Aug 27 - Sept. 1, 2008) and the Automobile
Club of Southern California NHRA Finals (Pomona, Nov. 13-16, 2008) will be double
points events.
Event Tie Breaker:
The event tie-breaker will be Top Speed of the meet in a pre-designated class
for that event. Each event tie-breaker will be announced when the individual contest
is posted. The participant closest to the Top Speed (mph) without going over (break
out) will be declared the winner. If all players tied pick a speed in excess of
the Top Speed, then the tie breaker will be determined by the player going over
by the least. In the event that applying the tie-breaker DOES NOT break the tie (i.e., each player picked an identical tie-breaker), the poster with the earliest time stamp will be declared the winner.
Event Winner Bonus:
Each overall event winner (after tie-breaker is decided, if necessary) will receive
5 bonus points.
Series Points Winners -- Ties:
A series tie-breaker will be designated at the start of the contest for the final race at
Pomona on Nov. 13-16, 2008 and will be used to determine 1st and 2nd place, if necessary.
Prizes:
The Snyder Motorsports 2008 Pick The Pros Champion will receive a Snyder Eliminator Primary Clutch (retail value $550!). The Snyder Eliminator Primary takes the Polar clutch system to the next level. The Snyder Eliminator clutch system features larger diameter overdrive shieves and new shieve angles for increased performance and better reaction times. It also has hardened rollers and custom arms.
The Snyder Eliminator comes blueprinted from the Clutch Gurus and will work with the stock Polar Secondary. Weekly winners get bonus points AND braggin rights. Sorry, no weekly prizes are available in 2008.
